In the early-1990s, a few nostalgic New Yorkers led by Bronx native Bobby Ortiz had the idea to get some friends together in their new stomping grounds - San Diego, CA - for some exhibition stickball. Nearly 30 years later, stickball has become a staple in Little Italy of San Diego.
What started as a ragtag group of men reliving a youthful passion turned into so much more. By 1997, the San Diego Knights had established themselves as one of the most competitive teams in the nation, placing second in the Memorial Day Stickball Invitational. By 1999, teams from New York and Florida were flying in for San Diego's Annual Labor Day Tournament.
While the league has not been in operation since the 2012 season, the tournaments are still as competitive and fun as ever! Check out the schedule to see our next events and DO NOT MISS the 2018 Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Columbus Day tournaments, featuring San Diego's best teams!
